 EunKyung Suh-Lee, Director of Music

EunKyungSuhDirectorofMusicEunkyung Suh is a native of South Korea and her interest in music began at an early age. While in Korea, she studied composition, organ, and piano, and was also a member of the Handbell Choir and the Bach Choir. Since the time she was young, she had the role of Church Pianist/Organist, and the music and church became a part of her life quite naturally. She has always considered the church to be her second home. As a church musician with fifteen years of experience, she has extensive training and experience on the organ, piano, carillon, harpsichord and as a conductor. In addition to music, she has been active as a community volunteer, and she would be interested in helping in the ministry of the church in whatever ways seem appropriate. As a committed Christian, she has a deep interest in furthering the spiritual growth of the ensembles and ministry areas that she leads. She earned her B.A degree in Church music and Organ Performance from Keimyung University in Korea. She holds a Master of Arts in the University of Portland and studied church music and organ/carillon from the University of Kansas. Currently, Eunkyung is a DMA student in Organ Performance at ASU.

She also planned Sunday school, wrote Biblical curriculum, and ran Vacation Bible Schools and Family Camp. It was at this church that she met her husband, Jarrod.  After completion of her college degree, she became a kindergarten teacher in the Peoria School District, where she currently still teaches. Jarrod and Ashley welcomed their first daughter, Halen, in early 2011. They have been happily married for 8 years and are expecting their second child in the Spring of 2014. When Ashley is not being a teacher, Children’s Minister, wife, or mother she enjoys craft projects, sleeping, and enjoying her family.
