Christian Education

Children's Ministry

Children's Ministry for children ages 3-12, will be held weekly during the 10:00am Sunday Service.  During this time, we will study the weekly lesson through discussion, dramatic play, and craft making.  The curriculum will be a mix of Liturgy of the Word and the catechesis of the Good Shepherd/Godly Play programs.  This is a time for children to learn about Jesus and have some fun for a 45 minute period while their parents/guardians are in the 10:00am Family Service.  The children will then return to their family in the church after the announcements, for the remainder of the service.

Children's RE 2011-2012

This year in addition to our Sunday Bible School, we will be having a class for older children (ages 7-12) to enhance their understanding of The Bible, Christian life, prayer, and Christian service. This class will be held every other Thursday, beginning on September 22 at 4:45 pm.

The curriculum selected for our class is Rock Solid. The program uses creative ways to live our faith such as dramatic plays, maps, charts, games/activities, and music. They will begin to understand time and the history of our religion.

EFM for Adults - Thursdays from 2 to 5 pm

EFM (Education for Ministry) is a program of theological education-at-a-distance of the School of Theology of the University of the South.  Students sign up one year at a time for this four year program.  It covers the basics of a theological education in the Old and New Testaments, church history, liturgy and theology.  Students meet weekly, in seminars under the guidance of trained mentors.  EFM is for the student who wants to dig deeper into the Christian faith.  It trains you to think theologically, expands your faith and your understanding of our Christian heritage, and provides you with confidence to be Christ's minister.
